Overall vibe:
A rich, powdery tonka fragrance with cinnamon, iris, vanilla, benzoin, and a subtle incense-like warmth. Tonka Hysteria is creamy, spicy, sweet, and sensual, but it isn't simply a vanilla gourmand. The tonka has an intriguing almond/cherry-like facet, while iris gives the sweetness a soft powdery texture and cinnamon and olibanum add warmth and depth.
It is opulent without being syrupy, powdery without feeling old-fashioned, and gourmand without smelling like dessert. The overall effect is warm, addictive, and decidedly seductive.
Longevity:
Excellent. This is an Extrait de Parfum at over 30% concentration, and both D’ORSAY and independent wearers report substantial longevity. Parfumo currently rates it above average, with some wearers reporting 8–10+ hours and very strong persistence.
Projection:
Moderate to strong. This is not one of D’ORSAY's whisper-soft fragrances. Tonka Hysteria develops a substantial, warm trail, particularly through the cinnamon, tonka and vanilla stages. Some wearers find it powerful enough to fill a room.
